Man with machete in Colorado’s athletics facilities dies after being shot, police confirm

A crazy story coming out of Colorado has officially turned deadly.

The Colorado University police department issued an alert Wednesday morning regarding a man armed with a machete in the Champions Center, a facility opened earlier this year that houses, among other things, the football program’s offices and indoor practice facility. Police responded to the area and reportedly shot the subject in a stairwell of the building.

According to reports coming out of the area, campus police have confirmed the subject was shot an undetermined number of times after officers ordered him to drop the machete and he failed to comply. As a result, the unidentified male died as the result of the gunshot wounds he received.

CU police said male suspect wielding Machete has died. CU police said order was given to drop weapon and did not comply. Was then shot.
