After joining in on “CHAR-LIE!’ chants, Texas AD tweets picture with embattled head coach

It could mean absolutely nothing, and likely means absolutely nothing, but there was at least a mildly interesting postgame development in Austin Saturday evening.

While it likely sounded the death knell for the Big 12’s playoff hopes, Texas’ win over Baylor was huge, personally, for Charlie Strong. Given how the season has unfolded, most have assumed that it’s a matter of when, not if Strong is offed as the Longhorns’ head coach.

Beating the previously unbeaten Bears doesn’t automatically change that, but it certainly can’t hurt. And, based on the reaction of one of the men, along with well-heeled and opinionated boosters, who will decide Strong’s fate, he may have at least one person in his corner.

Time will tell what Strong’s ultimate fate in Austin will be. But, based on today, the coach has to feel a little better about his future with the football program moving forward.
