2020 Navy-Notre Dame game to be played at home of the Giants, Jets

For the second day in a row, a future neutral site game involving Notre Dame has been revealed.

In a press release, Navy announced that their 2020 game with Notre Dame will be played at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. That stadium is home to the NFL’s New York Giants and Jets.

This will mark the Fighting Irish’s fourth appearance at MetLife, the Midshipmen’s second. It’ll also serve as the second meeting between the two football programs at the stadium, the first of which was a 35-17 Navy win in the 2010 opener.

“We are excited to return to MetLife Stadium, one of the finest venues in North America, for the 2020 Navy-Notre Dame game,” a statement from Navy athletic director Chet Gladchuk began. “It will make for a great weekend of sightseeing in New York City and watching the longest continuous intersectional rivalry in all of college football. Our last trip to MetLife Stadium in 2010 was a memorable one.”

This Saturday, the Irish and Midshipmen will meet for the 90th straight season. This year’s game will be played in Jacksonville.
