Report: Alabama’s No. 3 QB, Mac Jones, arrested on DUI charge

Nick Saban now has another off-field incident with which to deal as Alabama appears headed for a fourth straight appearance in the College Football Playoffs.

According to al.com, Mac Jones was arrested early Friday morning and charged with driving under the influence and improper identification by a minor. The quarterback was arrested by a Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Department deputy.

No details of what led to the initial traffic stop that preceded the arrest and charges have been released.

As of yet, the football program hasn’t commented publicly on the development.

A three-star member of the Crimson Tide’s 2017 recruiting class, Jones was rated as the No. 18 pro-style quarterback on 247Sports.com‘s composite board. The 19-year-old has served as the No. 3 quarterback this year, behind starter Jalen Hurts and backup and fellow true freshman Tua Tagovailoa.

Jones hasn’t thrown a pass this season.
