Josh Jackson makes move from Iowa to NFL official

Another day, another expected early departure.

One of the top defensive backs in the country, Josh Jackson announced very late Wednesday morning that he will be leaving eligibility on the table and making his way from Iowa to the April NFL draft. Jackson, as others before him, wrote on Twitter that his decision came "[a]fter discussing [his future] with my coaches, family” as well as “a lot of prayer.”

In just his first season as a starter -- he started one game the previous two years combined -- Jackson was named as the Big Ten’s Defensive Back of the Year. He was also one of just 14 unanimous All-Americans for the 2017 season.

Those honors poured in after he led the nation in interceptions (eight) -- that tied the school record -- and passes defended (26). Jackson returned two of those picks for touchdowns.
