Wisconsin says WR Quintez Cephus has been cleared to play this season

For once, the NCAA has actually moved with urgency over a decision.

School officials have told the Associated Press on Friday that wide receiver Quintez Cephus has been cleared by the NCAA to return this season and is eligible for Wisconsin in 2019.

The wideout rejoined the team earlier in the week after being readmitted to the university following his acquittal on sexual assault charges this summer. Eligibility concerns had been an issue holding up his full clearance for the upcoming season but it appears that everything has been sorted out just a week before the Badgers open their campaign at USF on Aug. 30.

While it remains to be seen just what kind of impact Cephus can have at Wisconsin in the near term, he can provide a pretty nice boost to the receiving corps if he can return to the form he displayed in 2017 where he was one of the big play threats on the team.
