Georgia Tech fell behind on the road at North Carolina State in the first quarter, but the Yellow Jackets have swarmed in the second quart to take a comfortable lead to the half. Through one half, Georgia Tech has a commanding 35-16 lead.

It has been a sloppy game so far with the two teams combining for five turnovers (NC State has three turnovers). The game has unfolded about as you would expect for Georgia Tech though, with 199 rushing yards at the half to just 25 passing yards. Synjyn Days leads all players with 142 rushing yards.

NC State had a mild scare when quarterback Jacoby Brissett had to be helped off the field after being sacked by Georgia Tech’s Tyler Marcordes. Brisset fumbled on the play and Quayshawn Nealy returned the loose ball 43 yards for a defensive touchdown for Georgia Tech. Although roughed up on the play, Brisset was back on the field for NC State’s ensuing offensive possession. Brisset picked up a key 20-yard run late in the half to set the Wolfpack up for a long 46-yard field goal by Niklas Sade to cut into the Georgia Tech lead on the final play of the half.

Georgia Tech is looking to keep pace with first-place Duke in the ACC Coastal Division. Georgia Tech needs some help from the rest of the division though in order to pass the Blue Devils for a shot to play for the ACC Championship. They are not getting any help from Syracuse, who trails Duke at the half in New York.
