The 2015 season is not one Georgia linebacker Reggie Carter will likely choose to remember fondly. After appearing in just one game this season, the promising inside linebacker will not miss the remainder of the 2015 season due to nagging shoulder problems.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the news Monday morning, saying head coach Mark Richt has confirmed Carter underwent surgery last week to address his shoulder. Carter provided quality depth for Georgia at the linebacker position each of the past two seasons and was thought to be a potential starter for the Bulldogs this season. That, of cours,e has not panned out for the former four-star recruit in Georgia’s Class of 2013.
Jake Ganus has taken on the starting role at one of the two spots Carter was expected to compete for before shoulder injuries got in the way. According to the AJC report, Carter will be eligible for a medical redshirt since he only appeared in one game this season.
