OK. St. DB’s pot bust was second arrest in two months

We told you Monday about a “suspicious odor” leading to the arrest of Oklahoma State’s Victor Johnson on charges of possession of marijuana and obstructing a police officer.

As it turns out, that was Johnson’s second scrape with the law in less than two months.

According to the Daily Oklahoman, Johnson was arrested early in the morning of June 11 and charged with driving under the influence. A university police officer observed the taillights on Johnson’s working improperly and pulled the defensive back over. It was at that point that the damn odor thing again got Johnson in hot water as the officer approached the vehicle and noticed the smell of alcohol wafting seductively into the early-morning air, as well as the junior’s “slurred speech” and “red and watery” eyes.

Johnson appeared in court Monday and entered a not guilty plea.

The football program is aware of the pair of arrests, but have yet to publicly comment on what type of punishment is in the offing for a player expected to challenge for a starting job in the Cowboys’ secondary.
