Moved to safety, QB Korn moves on from the Herd

It was learned over the weekend that Willy Korn had been moved from quarterback to safety, just six months after transferring to Marshall from Clemson in search of an opportunity for more playing time under center.

Said head coach Doc Holliday of the position switch, “Unfortunately, his dream didn’t come true. ... Sure, he is disappointed.”

So disappointed, in fact, that Korn’s taken his leave from Huntington. Permanently.

Three days after leaving the team for what Holliday described as “personal reasons”, Korn has decided to leave the Herd and transfer to Div. II North Greenville. And, in an odd circle-of-life moment, Korn’s new school is just over an hour away from Clemson.

The Charleston Daily Mail reports that Korn has already registered for classes at North Greenville and could begin practicing with his new Crusader teammates as early as today. As North Greenville is a Div. II school, Korn will be eligible to play immediately.
