Top 10 recruits fill in undeclared question marks

It’s a consensus amongst the major recruiting services that defensive end/uber-freak Jadeveon Clowney is far and away the No. 1 player in the 2011 recruiting class. However, the Rock Hill, S.C., product will not make his decision -- his finalists are South Carolina, Clemson and Alabama -- until his birthday on Valentine’s Day.

Meanwhile, virtually all of Rivals.com’s other top players made their announcements and faxed their signed Letters of Intent to their respective schools.

Curtis Grant, a linebacker out of Richmond, Virginia, is Rivals’ No. 2 player behind Clowney and was reportedly doing at least a slight lean toward Ohio State before signing day. And, as it turns out, he’s now doing an official and total lean as he chose the Buckeyes over North Carolina, Florida and Virginia.

Offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio, the No. 4 player in the country and top offensive tackle, announced on national television that he had chosen Auburn over Alabama. However, shortly after the announcement, it was reported that Auburn had yet to receive the lineman’s Letter of Intent and he was having second thoughts regarding his decision.

And then there’s the curious case of De’Anthony Thomas. The ‘Black Mamba’ was long-time, presumably rock-solid verbal commitment to USC, but the Crenshaw (Los Angeles) product took an official visit to Pac-12 rival Oregon over the weekend and ended up switching over the Ducks.
