After announcing back in January that he was transferring from USC, Brice Butler opened the door a little two months later for a possible return. Lane Kiffin, however, didn’t seem too inclined to bite on the wide receiver’s apparent change of heart.
Monday evening, however, everyone involved was singing a rousing rendition of Kumbaya. Presumably, that everyone would even include Butler’s father.
USC announced via a posting on its official website yesterday that Butler’s indeed had a change of heart and will remain a member of the Trojans football team.
“We are pleased with Brice’s decision to continue his development as a student-athlete at USC,” the head coach said in a statement regarding the redshirt junior.
Butler, who did not participate in spring practice, has 29 career receptions for 404 yards and three touchdowns. He’ll return to a unit that, when healthy, is loaded with a capital “L” with talent.
