Who knows, maybe one of these days former Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier will actually make a decision.
I mean, a guy can hang on to a dream (or, from a window), can’t he?
Until then, we’re stuck in the dead heat of summer slowly tracking Forcier’s whittle-down process as he decides where his next collegiate stop will be*.
(*note: we are assuming, of course, that the feeling of desire is mutual between Forcier and the prospective landing spot; that wasn’t the case with USC)
According to an interview with ESPN’s Joe Schad — who previously noted that former Nebraska QB Cody Green would be visiting USC as early as next week — Forcier says he’s narrowed his destination choices to a pair of current WAC schools — San Jose State and Hawaii — and says Nevada is also (sort of) in the mix.
As you’ll recall, Forcier reportedly had some prior interest in Hawaii back in June, going so far as to send a three-page letter to UH, according to the Honolulu Star-Advertiser.
Hawaii coach Greg McMackin declined to comment on the matter and the Forcier family Twitter page later denied that Tate had “contacted or visited the University of Hawaii“.
That appears to have changed; Forcier says he plans to visit UH next week.
But whether Forcier ends up at Hawaii, San Jose State, Nevada or any other Division 1 FBS school, he will have to sit out one year per NCAA transfer rules. In the meantime, it appears Forcier is taking online courses to ensure his eligibility for enrollment.
This guy cracks me up. The 2011 season is about to start and this guy still has no idea where he wants to play. Isn’t there some sort of deadline for getting on campus and qualifying as a redshirt for the 2011 season? The 2011 class is already on campus in many cases. This fool needs to hurry up.
I say go to Nevada. They have a good coach and are joining the Mountain West in 2012. Hawaii is, too, but the plane rides are so long.
Hawaii is the place for Tate. He’s a scrambling QZb w/ an awesome arm….. Hawaii no ka oi, brah!
Fight On brothers and sisters!
I’ll be so happy in 3 years when all the Forcier brothers are done with college and no longer a destraction from real sport stories. By that time they’ll all probably con their way into a journey men careers in the league as back-ups.
Who’s Tate Forcier?
To Mr. and Mrs. Forcier – please no more children!!
Perhaps his choices are being narrowed down by what schools actually WANT HIM….I can not think of too many programs that want to make the guy a starter after he loses his starting job to a better quarterback (Denard Robinson), then throw tempertantrums, and take pot shots at the team and coaches all season. Tate. wherever you go, stay there, because we don’t miss you at all back in Michigan.
I remember a story about a father who literally spent everything he had on his sons golf. Sending him to tournaments, hiring tutors, the whole nine yards to get his son on the pro tour.
As the story went the kid was not very good at golf. Better than average yes, but competition golf no chance. It was all about the dad wanting the kid to live the life he wished he could have had.
I see a lot of that in Tate Forcier. His dad is orchestrating all the moves. Perhpas the announcement on the schools is to let schools know Tate is still out there available. Tate should get it, that he’s not wanted or someone would have called by now. Dad should get it too and be prepared for Tate doing burgers some day.
Lil Sisters of the poor are in need Tate……
at 6′, 185 pounds I’m not even sure he’s big enough for high school ball.
Blah blah blah.. reminds me of Mitch Mustain..
I watched him throw the ugliest interception versus OSU a few years ago. He literally stared at Thaddeus Gibson for what had to be 3 seconds, and lobbed him the ball. He’s terrible. I’m not confident he can be a starter anywhere in FBS.
Can we stop talking about this clown? He’s not a good college QB, lets move on.
Besides, it’s more interesting watching the O$U hillbilly buckeye fans run as the NCAA hammer is about to arrive.
Bring on the death penalty.
