Duron Carter signs with Alabama, ready to start working with team

Ohio State heading for Rose Bowl

Three months after it was announced that ex-Ohio State receiver Duron Carter would be taking his talents to Alabama, it looks as though Carter has arrived in Tuscaloosa.

Via Twitter, Carter announced “I’m here!” yesterday.

And, according to reports, he’s signed with the Tide and will be able to work out with his teammates this month. However, he will not begin classes until August. A source close to Carter says there aren’t expected to be any academic roadblocks.

Carter came to Alabama from Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College after leaving the Buckeyes as an academic casualty. While at Coffeyville, Carter caught 44 passes for 690 yards and 10 touchdowns.

YEA! welcome to Deb’s team of fools. You’ll fit right in bud. Durrrr-Ron. Maybe he’ll got to class this time around. He’ll be lucky to see the field. Enjoy living in daddy’s shadow.

Just so there is no confusion:

Mr. Carter took his talents to Alabama because he was explicity told they were not longer needed in Columbus.

Outside of that, I wish the young man well and hope he can turn his mentality around.

If he was academically ineligible at OSU, he should be on pace to graduate with honors from Alabama. He won’t touch any of Gump’s records though.

My understanding was that if he wanted to go back to OSU, his GPA at CC would have had to be good enough to raise his GPA while at OSU to a point of eligibility. If he transferred to another school, he could start with the GPA attained at CC. Am I wrong about that? Either way, i’m guessing he’s one and done at alabama.

He wanted to come back to OSU but they wouldnt take him back. He burned too many bridges with academic advisors and coaches by not doing what it takes to get decent grades.

I like him and hope he does well and goes to the NFL, but he must not be too bright.

Feel bad for the oversigned player that got cut to make room for Duron….

He fits right in. Dirty league that puts winning ahead of everything! Academics, Morals, Loyalty. It all starts with the coaches.

You Ohio State fans can spew all the sour grapes you like. Clearly I’ve been much more decent to you than any of you deserved. Your cheating players and lying coach made your bed and you can bloody well lie in it wallowing in your self pity.

Yes, your intellectual superiority is smeared all over this thread.

My apologies to angelheartsbuckeyes, 1buckeye76, and lethimplaycoach for losing my temper. Your comments were gracious, and you aren’t responsible for the vulgar jackass who trolls these threads claiming to represent your fanbase. I’m sure he’s more embarrassing to you than he is annoying to everyone else.

Whatever Deb, You claim to be an Alabama fan, but a Mizzou grad, and a Steelers fan???? How does that happen, sounds like you’re a front-runner. Oh wait, Missouri has always been mediocre, so you jumped to winning teams so you can spew your sour grapes on everyone else right? A bama and pissburgh fan. Gimme a Break.

Sad to see him not in a Buckeye uniform given who his dad is, but happy to see him attempting to get his life together! Good luck at Bama Duron!
