Kansas QB Brock Berglund pleads not guilty to assault, to show up for camp

A few days ago, it was announced that freshman Kansas quarterback Brock Berglund was being charged with third-degree assault following an April 9th incident in his home state of Colorado.

By way of the Associated Press, Berglund has pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor and is expected to show up to the Jayhawks’ preseason camp which starts next week.

Berglund entered the plea yesterday (Monday) in Douglas County, Colorado. Berglund’s trial is not scheduled until December 13, after Kansas’ regular season ends.

Berglund had allegedly punched an individual who was harassing his girlfriend, leading to a complaint being filed in late June and, ultimately, the misdemeanor charge.

The three-star quarterback also missed Kansas’ spring practices due to “personal circumstances”.
