Rebels QB Mackey pleads not guilty to charges

Ole Miss quarterback Randall Mackey has pleaded not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct stemming from an Aug. 23 arrest outside an Oxford bar, according to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger.

Mackey, who was competing for the starting job (it eventually went to WVU transfer Barry Brunetti), was suspended for Ole Miss’ opening game against BYU.

The quarterback’s trial is set for Nov. 9.

Additionally, charges of public drunkenness for tight end Jamal Mosley have been dropped. Mosley, who was competing for the starting tight end job, was arrested within three days of Mackey.
