OU frosh arrested on DUI charge

It hasn’t shown up on our Police Blotter just yet, but records from the Norman Police Department show that Oklahoma linebacker Londell Taylor has been arrested on a DUI charge.

The police report states that Taylor, 23, was involved in an accident east of campus less than one hour after Oklahoma’s 38-28 victory over Missouri in Norman. Taylor reportedly blew a .14 and failed a field sobriety test.

Additionally, Taylor was cited for leaving the scene of the accident before being taken into custody. He was released after posting $1,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 11.

According to his bio on OU’s athletics page, Taylor was originally part of the Sooners’ 2007 signing class, but spent the past four years as part of the Detroit Tigers’ baseball organization. He was drafted by the Tigers in the 13th round of the 2007 MLB draft.

He is currently listed as a walk-on freshman.
