The knee injury to Texas wide receiver Jaxon Shipley is more serious than it originally appeared to be earlier this week.
Shipley tweaked his knee in the first half of last Saturday’s win over Kansas -- a 43-0 rout that really didn’t require his presence -- but it was expected that Shipley would be good enough to return today against Texas Tech.
Unfortunately, that won’t be the case.
Early reports from Austin are that Shipley will not play today against the Red Raiders as he continues to recover from that knee injury.
Shipley is the Longhorns’ leading receiver with 33 catches for 438 yards and three touchdowns.
