Oregon State coach Mike Riley didn’t waste much time taking action on Beavers defensive back Sean Martin after the soon-to-be redshirt junior found himself in some legal trouble over the weekend.
Riley released a statement today saying Martin (pictured, No. 6) was “suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules.”
I understand coaches tend to be vague about these types of matters, but I’m assuming Riley was referring to Martin getting busted for driving under the influence and attempting to elude police officers Sunday morning. Martin was released from jail shortly thereafter
Martin played in three games last season before suffering a season-ending foot injury. He’s contributed in 12 games the past two seasons, mainly on special teams.
It’s unclear yet if Riley will miss any time in the upcoming season following his latest run-in with the law.
