President Obama supports Emmert’s sanctions against PSU

Never one to shy away from talking sports when prompted, President Barack Obama has an official stance on the punishments handed down to Penn State by another president (Mark Emmert).

He’s in favor of Emmert’s decision. And only 11 days after the fact.

“I have been a big admirer of Penn State football, obviously Joe Paterno was a great football coach. But there are some things that are just more important than sports, and making sure our kids are safe is more important than sports.

“And I think it was appropriate to send that message that we have bigger priorities here and we’ve got to make sure that we are always looking after our kids, and we have an affirmative responsibility to make sure that we’re preventing predators from taking advantage of them.”

Hey, have to boost approval ratings before election season somehow, right? Punishing Penn State was the popular choice by the American public.

Now, Mr. President, about our economy...
