Arkansas State dismisses fourth-leading WR

The final weekend of fall camp didn’t go exactly how Arkansas State coach Gus Malzahn wanted with the start of the season right around the corner.

Malzahn announced Friday that Tres Houston had been suspended for the entire 2012 season for a violation of team rules. Sunday evening, word got out that the Red Wolves’ fourth-leading receiver from a year ago, Earl Lucas, was dismissed from the program.

The release from the school only says that Lucas, who had 20 catches for 225 yards last season, violated team rules (naturally).

Malzahn dismissed Auburn transfer Michael Dyer from the team last month.

Arkansas State opens up the season on Saturday at Oregon. The Red Wolves are probably better served not sending anyone to Eugene. Just say everyone violated team rules or something.
