APNot even a week after West Virginia wide receiver Travares Copeland left the program citing “personal reasons“, the school has announced another departure that further thins the group’s receiving unit.
Dana Holgorsen said Monday that Ivan McCartney has also departed the program for “personal reasons” and would not elaborate further. McCartney, a four-star receiver from WVU’s 2010 signing class, did not travel with the team to Oklahoma State this past weekend.
McCartney, a junior, had nine receptions for 112 yards on the season and no touchdowns. A talented receiver out of Miramar High School — he was a high school teammate of WVU quarterback Geno Smith — McCartney never lived up to the potential.
Can’t believe they gave that guy #5
why? who’s #5 in wvu lore?
Uhhhhh Pat White..
if you want special treatment for marginal players numbers…better start adding a 3rd or 4th number to uniforms
Pretty sad when pat white is some figure of lore in your programs history. Pretty much the most pathetic thing I have hear this month.
Who was the only college QB to ever win 4 bowl games? And 2 of them were BCS bowls before you speak out
