Ducks new betting BcS title favorites

Alabama’s stunning upset loss to Texas A&M has led one leading gambling website to look out west for a new title favorite.

In the latest set of Bovada.com odds, top-ranked Oregon is the new scratch favorite to win the 2012 BcS championship at 1/1. The Ducks were 3/1 last week after beginning the 2012 season at 10/1.

The Ducks are far from an overwhelming favorite, however, as Kansas State, the top team in the latest BcS rankings, are at 17/12. The Wildcats were barely on the oddsmaker’s radar in the offseason, coming into 2012 at 150/1.

Notre Dame, 15/2 last week, is now up to 6/1.

The Tide was solid 2/3 favorites a week ago but will need to not only win out but for one of the above three teams to lose in order to get back to the title. Those long odds are reflected by Bovada as the Tide tumbled to 17/2. Georgia, which has already clinched the SEC East and will likely play ‘Bama in the conference title game, is the only other team listed by Bovada, coming in at 20/1.
