Littlehead leaving Oklahoma State

Over a span of eight months beginning in December of 2011, Oklahoma State defensive lineman Christian Littlehead was charged on three separate occasions for various off-field incidents.

While Littlehead made it through the 2012 season with no off-field drama of which we’re aware, it doesn’t appear the drama’s completely behind him.

By way of the Daily Oklahoman, Cowboys sideline reporter and GoPokes.com writer Robert Allen is reporting that Littlehead is no longer a member of the football team. It’s not clear whether the reported departure would be mutual or forced, nor is it clear that there’s even been a departure as OSU has yet to confirm the speculation.

The paper writes that Littlehead is still listed on the official online roster and in the school directory.

In December of 2011, Littlehead was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and suspended for the Fiesta Bowl. Five months later, he was arrested for being drunk in public, which was followed by an assault and battery charge after he allegedly punched a woman at a party in March. The arrest warrant relating to that last incident was ultimately recalled and the case was dropped.

Littlehead played in eight games this past season after starting four in 2011.

UPDATED 10:02 a.m. ET: In a message posted to his Twitter account, Littlehead confirmed he “will be transferring at the end of the semester.”

“I am thankful for everyone that I have met at OSU and the time I spent here,” Littlehead added.
