Golden doesn’t suspect Morris’ ankle ‘will be an issue’

For those concerned about the state of Stephen Morris’ health, it appears there’s no cause for it.

Miami’s starting quarterback suffered what was initially believed to be a sprained ankle early on in the Hurricanes’ blowout win over FIU Saturday and did not return. The final diagnosis a day later was a bone bruise, not a sprain, with Al Golden stating that he “absolutely expected” Morris to play against USF.

Four days later, Golden is still optimistic about his starter’s availability, saying he did more in practice than he did on Thursday.

“It’s still three days out. I don’t suspect it will be an issue,” the head coach said.

If for some reason Morris suffers a setback between now and Saturday, Ryan Williams would get the start against the winless Bulls.
