Todd Gurley, Tray Matthews out for UGA vs. Mizzou

Not so unexpectedly, Georgia will be without starters on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball today as they look to hand an SEC East opponent its first loss of the season.

Neither running back Todd Gurley nor safety Tray Matthews are dressed today -- not dressed in a football uniform and pads; I’m quite certain they’re wearing some type of clothing as they will be out in public on the sidelines -- and will not play against unbeaten Missouri this afternoon due to injury.

Gurley missed the Tennessee win last weekend with a high-ankle sprain he suffered the week before against LSU. He had been doubtful all week, so the decision to sit him is far from surprising.

With top backup Keith Marshall also out for the year with a knee injury he incurred last Saturday, it would appear the Bulldogs will turn to J.J. Green to carry the bulk of the running game load; stepping in for the injured Marshall, the freshman rushed for 129 yards on 17 carries in the win over UT.

Matthews, a true freshman, also missed the Vols game as he has been limited by a hamstring injury.
