Finally, there’s some positive news coming out of an utter tragedy for the Cincinnati football program.
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, wide receiver Mark Barr has been released from the hospital after a nearly one-month stay. A UC official told the paper that Barr “continues to make steady progress” and has been transferred to a rehab facility as he continues to recuperate from unspecified injuries.
Barr had been listed in critical condition for over two weeks following a one-car accident late on the night of Sept. 21.
A teammate, offensive lineman Ben Flick, was killed in the accident while another teammate, fellow wide receiver Javon Harrison, suffered minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old friend of Flicks, died two days later due to the injuries he sustained in the crash.
