NCAA clears incoming LSU defensive end Arden Key

One of LSU’s key additions to the Class of 2015 has been given the “all systems go” from the NCAA to join the program this season. Arden Key, a defensive end from Atlanta, has now been cleared by the NCAA and expected to join the LSU program in August according to a report by Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.

Key was one of two LSU players previously reported to not be enrolled in summer classes. There did not appear to be much concern for the lack of enrollment, as sometimes these things happen and camp has yet to begin. LSU will open camp on August 6. Per Dellenger’s report, Key was not cleared in time to begin summer classes with the rest of LSU’s Class of 2015.

Key was a four-star recruit in LSU’s Class of 2015 out of Atlanta. Rivals ranked Key as the 13th best defensive end in the nation and the 23rd top player overall out of the state of Georgia. Key committed to the LSU program two days before National Signing Day, picking LSU over offers from South Carolina, where he had on two previous occasions been committed.
