Adidas teasing new Miami Hurricanes uniforms. You’ve been warned

After losing big name partners like Michigan and Tennessee and Notre Dame, the folks at Adidas are hoping to make a big splash with one of its newest clients; the Miami Hurricanes.

Adidas is going all out to show off its new look for the Miami Hurricanes. The uniform unveil is being hyped as a rebranding of the athletics program, which is to be expected as a new apparel partner. Just as Nike did recently with Tennessee, Adidas will reportedly have a DJ on hand to provide the soundtrack to what will be an athletically glorified fashion show. And only a select few (or rather, 500) will receive an invitation to attend the party at Club Liv on Miami Beach. So consider that the first major mistake for Adidas. No better time to show off brand new uniforms than a Saturday night. Tennessee’s uniform unveil was done with a live online stream during the day, when the social media frenzy can work at its best for this type of event.

Adidas has already shown off new alternate uniforms for Louisville to wear this season, featuring an HD graphic of an actual cardinal on one side of the alternate helmet. The feedback on the new home uniforms for UCLA from Adidas were none too pleasing either.

It’s not as though Nike was perfect when working with Miami’s look. Far from
it. Regardless, Miami fans will be holding their breath in hopes Adidas does not mess this one up.

A new brand of Hurricanes will be landing soon. 7.18.15 #ItsAllAboutTheU #teamadidas @adidasFballUS pic.twitter.com/KXXtLFO2uq
