Auburn the landing spot for Miami-Ohio grad transfer Marshall Taylor

Louisville had been considered the front-runner for the services of a MAC transfer. In the end, said transfer decided to head much further south to continue his collegiate playing career.

In an interview with Rivals.com over the weekend, Marshall Taylor (pictured, No. 21) confirmed that he has decided to transfer to Auburn. The cornerback had decided earlier this year to transfer from Miami of Ohio.

As Taylor will be headed to The Plains as a graduate transfer, the defensive back will be eligible to play immediately in 2016, his final season of eligibility.

“I’m very excited,” Taylor told the recruiting website. “It was a great visit. They are all about family at Auburn and I am big on family. ...

“My family loved it and that made me feel at home. Auburn showed us so much hospitality. It just felt so right at Auburn. They showed me everything I wanted to see and I felt like they were all honest and genuine with us.”

In addition to Auburn and Louisville, Taylor had also considered Florida and Michigan State.

The last two seasons, the 6-3, 200-pound Taylor started 22 games at cornerback for the RedHawks. He also started five games as a true freshman in 2012.

In 2015, he was second on the team with two interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
