FAU tentatively moving Saturday game vs. Charlotte to Sunday because of Hurricane Matthew

Are you ready for some Sunday college football?

Florida Atlantic had been scheduled to host Charlotte this Saturday at 3:30 at FAU Stadium. Because of Hurricane Matthew, however, the university has tentatively moved that game to Sunday at noon.

A press release notes that "[t]he final determination of the status of the game will not be made until the storm system has passed through the Boca Raton area and a post-storm assessment has been made.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who is in the path of Hurricane Matthew,” said athletic director Pat Chun in a statement. “Supporting our community, state and region is the current focus of FAU Athletics. We thank our friends at Charlotte for their understanding and assistance.”

Charlotte-FAU becomes the third FBS game impacted by Matthew, joining UMass-Old Dominion (moved from Saturday to Friday night) and Tulane-UCF (moved from Saturday to Nov. 5). Final decisions on LSU-Florida in Gainesville and Georgia-South Carolina in Columbia are expected at some point today.
