Suspended WR Jazz Ferguson says he’s transferring from LSU

Jazz Ferguson has found a sure-fire way to crawl out of Ed Orgeron‘s doghouse -- leave the program entirely.

The erstwhile LSU wide receiver announced in a statement on his Twitter account Thursday that he has decided to transfer from the Tigers. “I know God will guide me in the way he wants me to go, but I’m blessed to say I was an LSU Tiger,” Ferguson wrote.

Ferguson was indefinitely suspended just a couple of days prior to the Nov. 5 game against Alabama for violating unspecified team rules. He remained suspended for the balance of the regular season.

Serving primarily as a blocker, Ferguson caught two passes for 17 yards this season. Those were the only catches of the sophomore’s career.

A four-star member of the Tigers’ 2015 recruiting class, Ferguson was rated as the No. 36 receiver in the country and the No. 12 player at any position in the state of Louisiana. In addition to LSU, Ferguson held offers from, among others, Houston, Miami, Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
