After being suspended earlier this year for a variety of missteps both off the field and in the classroom, defensive tackle Ladi Ajiboye and cornerback C.C. Whitlock have seen their suspensions from the South Carolina football program lifted, The State newspaper is reporting. Both players were having academic issues at the time of their suspensions, while Ajiboye was arrested for possession of marijuana in February. While the suspensions have been rescinded, both are facing a one-game suspension -- at least -- to start the 2009 season."(Ajiboye) is back on the team. C.C. Whitlock‘s back on the team. We’ll announce whatever penalty for those guys a little later on,” Steve Spurrier told the paper when reached by phone."They were suspended during the regular course of the year for academic reasons, and (are) back on the team. ... They’ll both miss at least one game, and we’ll go from there. (We’ll) see how they do between now and the season."The paper also reported that Whitlock “still has some work to do to be academically eligible in the fall.”
