Felony Charges To Be Dropped Against Razorbacks Lineman

Arkansas defensive tackle Lavunce Askew was scheduled to be arraigned this morning on a felony theft charge relating to a stolen laptop.

Instead, the NW Arkansas Morning News is reporting, the charges were in the process of being dropped by the prosecutor’s office.

According to The Morning News, the man who was the victim of the theft decided he didn’t want to pursue charges because the laptop was returned undamaged.

The incident occurred on May 30, and Askew was staring a felony charge square in the face as the stolen property was worth $1,300.

Shortly after the arrest, Askew was suspended indefinitely by head coach Bobby Petrino, and there’s no official word yet as to whether this latest development will result in an immediate lifting of the suspension.
