Husky RB Depth Takes A Double Hit

In the spring of this year, Washington’s leading rusher in 2008 -- Terrance Dailey, 338 yards for an entire season -- was declared academically ineligible.

Two players who may have been counted on to pick up that running game “slack”, however, have also suffered the same fate.

According to the Seattle Times, running backs David Freeman and Brandon Johnson have both been declared -- you guessed it -- academically ineligible for the 2009 season.

“It’s really too bad,” Freeman’s high school coach, Charles Mincy, told The Times. “I really thought that was a great fit for him.”

Last season, Johnson was the Huskies’ third-leading rusher with 194 yards -- again, that number is for an entire season.

All three, apparently, will now miss the ’09 season thanks to academic issues.

And somewhere, quarterback Jake Locker may have taken yet another look at what exactly the California Angels of Los Angeles and Anaheim may have for him at the MLB table...
