Future of two Nittany Lions still up in the air

Starting cornerback A.J. Wallace and defensive tackle Abe Koroma will likely not be with the team when Penn State’s summer practices begin early next month, multiple reports from the Big Ten meetings are stating.

Of the two, it seems as if Koroma is more the one in jeopardy for missing the entire season for what head coach Joe Paterno labeled as “personal problems”.

“Wallace has a question with cutting some classes,” Paterno said. “Koroma’s got some personal problems. I’m not sure what’s going to happen. I doubt if Koroma will be because he really has got some problems.”

While Koroma was in a position to challenge for a starting job, Wallace already had one corner spot locked up. Additionally, he’s the Nittany Lions leading returning kick returner from last season.

If Wallace were to miss any portion of the regular season, it would be a significant blow to both the defense and special teams.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is reporting that the lockers of both players were cleaned out last month.
