Dissed Ute QB bolts, heads for The Biggest Little City

Last Thursday, head coach Kyle Whittingham shocked most observers by announcing that true freshman Jordan Wynn would be Utah’s starting quarterback.

Perhaps the most shocked was Corbin Louks, Utah’s most experienced QB and the perceived lead dog of the competition. As if losing out on the starting job wasn’t enough, Louks was dropped down to third on the depth chart.

While Louks initially put on a good face -- even saying he would be amenable to a position change -- those feelings have subsided and he’s decided to transfer, the Salt Lake Tribune is reporting.

According to the paper, Louks is transferring to Nevada. As he didn’t participate in today’s scrimmage, it’s believed his on his way to Reno to enroll at Nevada.

Louks’ departure leaves the Utes woefully lacking in Div. 1-A experience at the most important position on the field.

Wynn, obviously, has never played at this level, while backup Terrance Cain is a junior college transfer.
