Compromise coming in Balogun case?

According to the lawyer for Michael Balogun, a compromise between his client and the NCAA could be reached outside of the courtroom, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram is reporting.

A hearing on the civil suit filed by Balogun is scheduled to be heard on Monday. The attorney, Woody Glass, said that hearing won’t go on as scheduled.

“We are working on resolving the situation in a way that will be a case of win-win for everyone,” Glass told the Star-Telegram.

There is no word on exactly what the “win-win” would entail.

The 25-year-old senior had his eligibility decertified by the NCAA after issues arose over the Oklahoma linebacker’s past participation in a semi-pro league.

Balogun received a temporary restraining order that allowed him to continue practicing with the Sooners.

If it’s proven that Balogun played in the semi-pro league after his 21st birthday, he would lose a year of eligibility for each 12-month period in which he participated. As he has only one year of eligibility, it would effectively end the LB’s collegiate career.
