The defense of No. 17 Cincinnati suffered a stiff shot to the body this afternoon when it was learned that starting linebacker Curtis Young will be out for an extended period of time.
Young is expected to miss anywhere from three to six weeks after undergoing a successful surgical procedure on his right knee earlier today.
The senior suffered the injury during practice this week as the Bearcats prepared for their non-conference match-up with Oregon State.
.In the first two games of the season --- both UC wins -- Young totaled 13 tackles, including 3.5 for losses. He also registered a sack.
