Carr ripped by former UM quarterback

Lloyd Carr drew the ire of Michigan fans for the play of his team off the field, which ultimately led to his dismissal. Now, the former UM head coach is drawing the wrath of one former player for what he did off the field last weekend.

Apparently, Carr was hobnobbing with Iowa supporters during the Wolverines’ loss to the Hawkeyes.

That didn’t sit well with former UM quarterback Rick Leach.

Appearing on WTKA-AM this morning, Leach blasted the former coach for talking with the enemy.

“Our ex-coach flipped a huge middle finger right in our current coach’s face,” Leach told host Sam Webb according to the clip provided by mvictors.com. “So ask people to go investigate that, Sam. There will be a lot more there to come. Trust me.”

I’ve said it before on other occasions, but it seems very appropriate for Mr. Leach right now: Take it easy, Rick. Why don’t you sit this next one out, stop talking for a while.

The only thing missing from Leach’s diatribe was accusing Carr of arriving at the Iowa game in a black helicopter and wearing a tinfoil hat. I understand Leach wanting to defend a program and current head coach that have been embattled throughout the year, but Carr has been a Michigan man through and through for many, many years.

To suggest he’s anything less than loyal to the school -- even given his dismissal -- is simply unfair to the man.
