Petrino pulls hat from Hilltopper ring

Just a day after interviewing for the opening at Western Kentucky, Paul Petrino is no longer a candidate for the position.

The Arkansas offensive coordinator issued a statement through the school this morning announcing that he has withdrawn his name from consideration.

“I am very appreciative of the interest Western Kentucky University has shown in me. However, I have withdrawn my name from consideration and my focus is on our remaining games starting this Saturday at LSU.”

In his second season as Arkansas’ coordinator, the younger brother of Razorbacks head coach Bobby Petrino has directed the top offense, yardage-wise, in the SEC this season. Their 445.2 yards per game is No. 13 in the nation.
