Colt: The Real Heisman McCoy?

Mark Ingram, the object in your Heisman mirror may be closer than it appears.

The Alabama tailback had a seemingly comfortable “lead” heading into the weekend, but Colt McCoy may have just wiped away the pseudo-advantage in one fell swoop. Especially as the quarterback was the only collegiate show in town as everyone was in their annual digestive/vegetative state

Behind 479 yards of total offense and five touchdowns from McCoy, Texas was able to outlast Texas A&M, 49-39, in a wild game that harkened back to the “halcyon” days of the Big 12.

McCoy threw 304 yards and four touchdowns and no interceptions. The senior also ran for a career-high 175 yards and a touchdown, a 65-yarder at the beginning of the second quarter.

All in all, it was a Heisman performance by the only one of The Big Three with a viable opportunity to win the award. Head coach Mack Brown would seem to agree on the epic-ness of what he saw on the Kyle Field turf.

“If anybody has a better Heisman moment than that,” Brown said, “I’d like to see it.

Mr. Ingram, you’re up. The Iron Bowl this afternoon is your shot to hold serve.
