PFT: Weis cleans out office

Another day -- hell, another hour -- and we have yet another sign that the Charlie Weis’ tenure at Notre Dame is on it’s last legs.

According to a lil’ ol’ website you may or may not have heard of, the current Irish coach has cleaned out his office in anticipation of his expected trek to the coaching gallows.

As noted by PFT‘s Mike Florio, Weis will return to South Bend immediately after the Stanford game as a scheduled West Coast recruiting trip that included the coach has been nixed.

It should also be noted that Weis will return to Indiana with a 45-38 loss to the Cardinal, dropping the Irish to 6-6 on the season and serving as the final nail in his Golden Dome coffin.

Oh yeah, on a non-Irish note, that Toby Gerhart is one helluva football player. The Stanford back rushed for 205 yards and scored three touchdowns in the win, further cementing himself in the debate as to just who should receive a ticket to New York City for the Heisman ceremony.

He also threw for a touchdown, and the three rushing scores give him 26 on the season.

Heisman candidate? Uhhh, yeah.
