RedHawks suspend defensive lineman

OK, we know this post involves a lineman from a 1-11 MAC team. It may not exactly be your cup of Long Island iced tea. But, hey, look on the bright side. At least it’s not about Brian Kelly or Notre Dame, right?

Anyway, Miami of Ohio announced today that freshman defensive end Wes Williams has been indefinitely suspended from the football program.

The press release stated that Williams had been suspended for an unspecified violation of team rules, and that no further details would be forthcoming about the situation.

Williams had played in 11 of 12 games this season for the RedHawks, and totaled 14 tackles. He did return an interception 20 yards for a touchdown in the school’s only win of the season Oct. 31 against Toledo.
