Stanford may have some Luck for bowl game

When Andrew Luck underwent surgery for a broken finger earlier this month, the Stanford quarterback’s availability for at least the start of their bowl game was very much up in the air.

One day ahead of their Sun Bowl match-up with Oklahoma State, the Cardinal may have gotten lucky at the position. So to speak.

Head coach Jim Harbaugh said today that Luck had the pins removed from the surgically-repaired finger and there’s a good chance the freshman will play. Harbaugh told the assembled media that Luck “is progressing nicely” in his rehab.

A final decision on if or how much Luck will play likely won’t come until right before game time. Which, I guess, would make it a game-time decision.

If Luck is a no-go, senior Tavita Pritchard would assume the position. So to speak.
