We’re still a few minutes away from kickoff, but the pregame festivities are closer to a Super Bowl than a college football game. Having been to the Rose Bowl last year, I can safely say that the media attention and pomp and circumstance have been dialed up ten-fold.
Whether it was the “interesting” mash-up of Josh Groban and Flea on the anthem, the fighter jets rattling the pressbox, or Keith Jackson -- Mr. Rose Bowl himself -- flipping the coin, this one is going to be big.
I never thought I’d say it, but I’m glad ESPN got the broadcast for this one. If feels more like a college football game when the guys at ESPN are running the show as opposed to the three games a year Fox does.
Buckle up, it should be an exciting night...
