Bowden, FSU officially stripped of wins

Even over a month after stepping down as Florida State’s head coach, Bobby Bowden is still losing games. Or, more specifically, losing games he’s already won.

According to the Associated Press, the Seminoles have officially been stripped of 12 football wins from the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

The NCAA sanctions stem from an academic fraud case, and cost both the coach and the football program five wins from 2006 and seven from 2007.

The sanctions leave Bowden with a total of 377 wins over his legendary career.
