Preferred walk-on at USF facing grand theft charges

After Marvin Kloss had initially flirted with Florida and was offered a grayshirt opportunity, the Florida high school kicker was told by UF officials that it would “be hard to get” him into school this fall.

Kloss then turned his attention to USF, where new head coach Skip Holtz offered the kicker preferred walk-on status, with the promise of a scholarship in 2011 if he contributed on the field in 2010.

After the events of today, Kloss might have a bit of a problem contributing anywhere that doesn’t involve steel bars and orange jumpsuits.

According to the Naples Daily News, Kloss was arrested on Friday and charged with grand theft after allegedly stealing -- along with another male -- $8,200 worth of merchandise from a home.

According to police reports, the victim told police she had several items taken from her home between Feb. 26 and March 1, when she was out of town. She told police her neighbor had a key to get into her home to care for her pets while she was out of town.

The victim told police the neighbor had a party at the victim’s home on Feb. 27 and that during the party, items were stolen from the house.

According to reports, a Nintendo Wii, 18-karat gold bracelet, watch and camera were among the items stolen.

Based on how Holtz dealt with a player who could’ve been the Bulls’ starting running back in 2010, we get the feeling that Kloss is not long for the Bulls.
