If you had the under in the “Will Bryce Brown last two seasons in Knoxville?” pool, step up and collect your winnings.
According to volunteertv.com, the much-hyped Tennessee running back is no longer a member of the football program.
New head coach Derek Dooley stated that Brown was not dismissed from the program, but rather left due to personal issues.
While it’s uncertain just where Brown will continue his collegiate career, a good bet would be on Kansas State.
Brown’s brother Arthur Brown transferred from Miami of Florida to the Wildcats earlier this month. There were rumors at the time that Brown, depending on how his relationship with Dooley developed, would join his linebacker brother.
The path to Manhattan is now wide open, and it would be more than a little surprising if, at some point in the coming weeks, we didn’t post a headline that read something along the lines of “For Bryce, there’s no place like home”.
UPDATE: 8:07 p.m. ET: ESPN‘s Bruce Feldman, in a pair of (nice) tweets, said that Bryce Brown returning to the Volunteers isn’t out of the question, but the signs point to the back joining his brother at Kansas State.
