Auburn officially closes book on QB Rollison

On February 24, Tyrik Rollison wrote wrote on his Facebook wall that he was “moving on from Auburn”. The same day, The quarterback’s father said that he “tried to talk him out of leaving, but he has his mind made up.”

Fast-forward a month to March 24, and head coach Gene Chizik stated that Rollison was “still in school” and attributed all of the transfer talk as just “external hearsay”.

Today, nearly two months later, that “external hearsay” officially came to fruition.

According to the Mobile Press-Register, Auburn confirmed on Wednesday that Rollison is indeed transferring from The Plains.

It’s believed Rollison is transferring to Div. 1-AA Sam Houston State. As he’s not moving on to a Div. 1-A school, he will be eligible to play immediately.

Rollison was a high-profile member of Auburn’s outstanding 2009 class, coming in as a four-star recruit and the No. 2 dual-threat QB in the country.
